Manufacturers Installation Instructions

Tank Installation;

Evacuate to minimum 3-inches below required depth and to firm undisturbed material.  Exercise extreme care during excavation to avoid damage to buried lines, tanks and other concealed items. Tank to be set level and hole should be free of any water.  Bedding material described as sand, gravel, granite, lime rock, or any unsaturated soil material of sandy loam or coarser texture.  100% of bedding material passes 1.5 in screen.

Fill, Back Fill and Compaction

Back Fill around Tank carefully and evenly in 18" lifts with imported granular material or native soil should be free of large rocks or other foreign material that may cause damage to the tank (s).

Burial Depth

Where installed in high water situation, a minimum of 13.5 in shall be placed on the tank lid or the tank shall maintain enough liquid in the tank during High Ground Water Situations to offset Buoyancy.  Cover over tank not to exceed 36" or 48" for 3 Comp 2633.  Deeper cover will require thicker lid.

For Jurisdictions Requiring Water Testing

Fill to invert of inlet and test to invert of outlet and let stand for 24 hrs.
TESTING WITHOUT PROPER BACKFILL ON LID WILL DAMAGE SEAL BY HYDROSTATIC LIFTING.

NuWater Infiltrator Tank Assembly

Parts required:
  1. Infiltrator IM1060 Tank, stacked clamshell style, bottom tank on top
  2. Standard baffle wall (black)
  3. (2) support posts
  4. Bag of clips, dowels, grommets, etc.
  5. NuWater baffle walls (white)
  6. 1” PVC stick½” PVC stick
  7. NuWater assembly kit
  8. (2) 1” Orenco orifice shields, slotted
  9. (4) 1” galvanized self tapping screws
  10. 1” disconnect / unions, as desired

Tools required:

  1. Spray Soap
  2. Rag
  3. Drill with bits
  4. 1-3/8” hole saw
  5. 5” hole saw
  6. hammer
  7. saw
  8. PVC Glue

Begin by making sure the tanks have been stacked properly, with the gasketed (bottom) shell on top.Flip bottom shell over and inspect gasket, ensuring it is seated properly in the slot.Insert all baffle walls as shown on diagram. Remember the tank is installed backward. The side marked “inlet” is the outlet, and the side marked “outlet” is the inlet.Insert dowels into tankPop out one of the upper pass-thru ports out on the black baffle wall, then allow the fold-up sides to flap downward till top is placed on. Loosen zip-ties to allow easier attachment of post.Thoroughly spray soap onto the gasket. Carefully inspect the un-gasketed top clamshell for evidence of rocks etc. Remove as necessary.Gently flip over the top clamshell and place evenly onto the dowels on the bottom.Inspect perimeter of gasket.Carefully slide clips onto tabs around perimeter of tank, tapping into place with hammer. Work from one direction, which allows less obstructed hammering.Remove the lids and dispose of shipping screws.Roll tank onto it’s side and flip the hanging flaps of the baffle wall up to snap into place on the top.Slide the support posts into place thru the access ports. They will rest on the slots on the bottom then “snap” into the top. Fasten zip ties to secure the baffle wall. Assemble the diffuser assembly with the 1” PVC.Install a 1” Orenco slotted orifice shield vertically onto the baffle wall, with top about 2” from ceiling of tank, and the slots facing directlydownward.Snap the 1” PVC of the diffuser assembly into the orifice shield.Attach with 90 elbow to horizontal 1” PVC, marking the place onthe second support post where this will cross.Install the second 1” orifice shield on the second post to supportthe lateral 1” PVC.For added maintenance friendliness, install a disconnect union attwo places in the horizontal pipe, allowing easy removal of diffusers. Drill 1-3/8” holes just offset from center, immediately above water line. Install sludge return piping in same manner as in concrete tanks, remembering the key 4” off floor, 12” to tee distances shown below. Extend 1” PVC Back thru both baffle walls and adapt up to 2” PVC for minimum of 6 inches before the return inlet tee. Extend 2” PVC return inlet tee 12” into trash tank.Place tank on clean flat surface for drilling of inlets and outlets.Mark center of 5” hole saw hole at 49” off flat ground surface on inlet (results in bottom of pipe at 47”).Mark center of 5” hole saw hole at 48” off flat ground surface @outlet (results in bottom of pipe at 46”).Drill out with hole saw, remember it is much easier to drill in reverse.Clean plastic scraps from holes & Install grommets on inlet and outlet.Install double tee baffle assembly on outlet.Install tank riser adapters as necessary, usign stainless steel screws and ISI1500 glue.
